- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) China Lake, CA intends to procure, on a Firm Fixed Price basis, an Ultra-Fast Laser System. This procurement is a full and open competition with a HUBZone price preference. The specified ultra-fast laser system will be integrated into the Combustion Diagnostics Laboratory's special test equipment as the excitation/light source for spectroscopic data of combustion events including metallic clouds, various energetic materials and propellants. The laser system is a picoseconds (ps)/femtoseconds (fs) dual timing laser system. The laser is capable of providing laser pulse at the picoseconds and/or femtoseconds pulse length, 2 ps and/or 90fs, respectively, depending on the configuration used during testing. The laser system is tunable in the wavelength range from 240 to 2600 nanometers (nm) through an optical parametric amplifier (OPA) rather than the conventional dye laser system. The laser will not be cryogenically cooled due to the high cost of such systems, but will be cooled through a stand-alone, closed loop water chiller. The laser beam at the output of the laser will have a beam profile as close to a Gaussian beam profile as possible to minimize the energy variation across the laser beam. Specific information to include detailed specifications shall be included in Solicitation N68936-12-R-0083 to be issued and posted on the Navy Electronic Commerce Online website at http://www.neco.navy.mil and the FEDBIZOPPS website at http://www.fbo.gov/ on or about (DATE), to close 30 days after the Request for Proposal issue date. Delivery requirements shall be F.O.B. Destination China Lake, CA. Estimated award is 11 Sep 2012. All responsible sources may submit a written quotation which shall be considered by the agency. All responses shall be submitted in writing to the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, Code 210000D, Attn: Joshua Patton, 429 E. Bowen Road Mail Stop 4015, China Lake, CA 93555-6108. All responsible sources must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database at the following website: https://www.ccr.dlis.dla.mi;/ccr/scripts/index.html. In accordance with FAR 4.1201, prospective contractors shall complete electronic annual representations and certifications via the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA at: http://orca.bpn.gov in conjunction with required registration in the CCR database.
