Description
PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE (RFP NO. DTFH61-12-R-00027) Tools, Training and Technical Assistance for Local Rural and Tribal Roads Practitioners The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has a requirement for a contract to provide tools for as well as training and technical assistance to practitioners in an effort to reduce crashes on two-lane rural roads. Additionally, this requirement will focus on solutions appropriate for local agencies and tribes in areas that have the greatest potential to save lives. The objective of this requirement is to develop and provide safety tools and technical assistance to local rural and tribal road practitioners in an effort to reduce serious injuries and fatalities on their roadways. This requirement is comprised of two broad tasks concentrating on non-state-owned, two-lane rural roads as follows: (1) toolkit development and (2) training and technical assistance. The resulting contract will require extensive, relevant knowledge and experience in tribal and local rural highway safety issues, training and technical assistance. It is anticipated that work under this contract will consist of a 36-month duration and may primarily take place at the Contractor's site. This requirement is subject to full and open competition. However, other types of contracts may be submitted. Therefore, all responsible parties may respond to this requirement. The solicitation, all related documents and amendments, if any, will only be released and available electronically through the FedBizOpps posting system at http://www.Fedbizopps.gov under the Vendors' option followed by selection of the Department of Transportation (DOT) center. As such, no written, telephonic, facsimile or e-mail requests for the solicitation package will be honored. Interested parties can register at the aforementioned site to receive procurement announcements by e-mail. Since this solicitation will only be available electronically, it is solely the responsibility of interested parties to monitor the FedBizOpps website for any solicitation amendments.
