Description
NASA/LARC is hereby soliciting information about potential sources for SteelRepairs to the Gantry Cat Walks at NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton, Virginia. Thegantry is a 240-foot high, 400-foot-long, 265-foot-wide A-frame steel structure. The workconsists of installing welded structural steel repairs of deteriorated structural steelmembers and plate elements on the gantry and painting the repaired areas. The work willrequire high work and scaffolding. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA) is seeking capability statements from all interested parties, including Small,Small Disadvantaged (SDB), 8(a), Woman-owned (WOSB), Veteran Owned (VOSB), ServiceDisabled Veteran Owned (SD-VOSB), Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone)businesses, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU)/MinorityInstitutions (MI) for the purposes of determining the appropriate level of competitionand/or small business subcontracting goals for Steel Repairs to the Gantry Cat Walks atNASA LaRC. The Government reserves the right to consider a Small, 8(a), Woman-owned(WOSB), Service Disabled Veteran (SD-VOSB), or HUBZone business set-aside based onresponses hereto.No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If asolicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA AcquisitionInternet Service. It is the potential offerors responsibility to monitor these sitesfor the release of any solicitation or synopsis.Interested offerors/vendors having the required specialized capabilities to meet theabove requirement should submit a capability statement of 5 pages or less indicating theability to perform all aspects of the effort described herein.Please advise if the requirement is considered to be a commercial or commercial-typeproduct. A commercial item is defined in FAR 2.101.This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as acommitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Respondents deemedfully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation for the requirement. All responses shall be submitted to M.T. Stubbs, Contracting Officer, no later than April26, 2012. Please reference NNL12GANTRY-MTS in any response.
