- Description
- The Mid-Pacific Region of the Bureau of Reclamation intends to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for a firm fixed-price contract for Shasta Dam Temperature Control Device Wire Rope Replacement. This procurement is set-aside for Total Small Business concerns only. The work to be performed is described below. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237990 and the related small business size standard is $33.5M. This notice is not a request for proposal and the information presented in this announcement will not obligate the Bureau of Reclamation in any manner. The estimated cost of this project is between $1M and $5M. Work will be located at the Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation), Shasta Dam, approximately 15 miles North of Redding, California, in Shasta County. Solicitation R12PS20077 will be posted to http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about May 11, 2012. The date for receipt of offers will be approximately June 10, 2012. The solicitation must be downloaded at the above website; no paper copy of this solicitation will be distributed. Prospective contractors MUST be actively registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database at http://www.ccr.gov to be eligible for award. The principal components of the work to be performed include: A.Replace 68 corroded wire ropes used to raise and lower the control gates of the Shasta Temperature Control Device (TCD).1.Replace sockets that connect new wire ropes to equalizing beams.2.Replace wire rope slings that connect equalizing beams to gates.B.Apply touch up paint to hoist drums, sheaves, drum covers and sheave covers.C.Prepare surfaces and perform spot repairs on the epoxy coating system of the equalizing beams.
