- Description
- The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) intends to award a sole source purchase order to Turbulent Flow Instrumentation Pty Ltd for the purchase of two TFI Series 100 Cobra Probes. These sensors are required for detailed flow mapping in FHWA's wind tunnel as well as around scale models and full-scale objects. No other vendor is known to offer sensors with the required robustness, turbulence measurement capabilities, and simplicity of use as well as meeting all of FHWA's desired specifications. The proposed action is for equipment which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. All responsible sources may submit a response identifying their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the total estimated value is not to exceed $21,780.00; the anticipated award date is in May, 2012.
