- Description
- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for Axis rotation SRS-2000 Fiber Optic Sensor(gyroscopes)as follows:Parameter -Type 1Range of measured anqular rate, deg/sec - 40Bias drift at fixed temperature deg/h - <0.005Bias drift at chanqinq temperature from -30C to -50C, deq/h -<0.05Scale factor repeatability, % - <0.01Bandwidth, Hz - >50Random walk, deg/ h - <0.0005Power supply - 5V0.25' Power consumption, W - <7Weiqht (net), kq - 1.7Dimensions, mm - 0250x45Output - RS485'Optional: from 18 to 36VOptional - RS232/RS422, Discrete - Unitary Code (Frequency is proportional to measuredangular rate]The requirement is for a set of very high precision gyroscopes for attitude determinationfor the Balloon Experimental Twin Telescope for Infrared Interferometry (BETTII). Thesegyroscope must provide two-axis (pitch and yaw) angular velocity measurements that willbe integrated to determine position stability. The required bandwidth of measurement mustbe faster than 10 Hz, and ideally several times faster. The required positional stabilityis better than 0.1 arcseconds (0.5 microradians) for times up to 10 seconds. In order toremain stable over this period, the angular random walk of the gyro must be below 0.004degrees per sqrt(hour) and the bias stability must be below 0.007 degrees per hour. Thegyroscope must be solid-state and able to operate at low temperatures(-50 C) and without atmospheric pressure in a high altitude balloon environment. It mustalso output data in a standard data format (analog or digital) with the ability totrigger data acquisition and synchronize output data timing. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the onlysolicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are beingrequested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to usethe On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above orit may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred)no later than May 08, 2012. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site forthe release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible fordownloading their own copy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any). NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. The Center Ombudsman for thisacquisition can be found at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/pub/pub_library/Omb.html.
