Notice Type: Special Notice: RFI VA248-12-I-1329 Synopsis: The James A. Haley Veterans Affairs Hospital (VA), Tampa, FL. intends to negotiate a noncompetitive award to Xerox Corporation, 45 Glover Avenue, Norwalk, CT. 06850-1203. The notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the government not to compete the proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the government. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one (1) source in accordance with FAR 8.402(f) and under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a) (2). This procurement is based on the determination that the governments' minimum needs can best be satisfied by services available from only one source. Xerox copier machine is already in place at the facility, James A. Haley Veterans Hospital; it is being used by research department. This machine is under a leasing agreement which was created in 2008. We are currently under the last two years of the agreement. This agreement will be terminated after Sept. 30, 2012. If the customer and the CO determine that it would be cost effective to complete the leasing agreement, the machine will then be purchased @$65.00 to include services and maintenance, billable prints not included. Interested vendors are requested to submit Technical Information that includes, but not limited to the following: 1) reference to Sources Sought number; 2) company name, address, telephone number, and website address (if available); 3) the type of business (large or small); 4) the name, telephone number, and e-mail address of a technical point of contact having the authority and knowledge to clarify responses with Contracting Specialist and 5) technical literature regarding the type of copier your company can provide. Response should be received no later than 10 A.M. Eastern Time May 3, 2012 and shall be submitted via e-mail to Leonora.simmons@va.gov. No telephone calls will be accepted. James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAVAH) does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Notice, or otherwise pay for the information requested. No entitlement or payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAVAH) will arise as a result of submission of responses to this Notice and James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAVAH) use of such information. James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAVAH) recognizes that proprietary data may be part of this effort. If so, respondents are responsible for identifying proprietary components, interfaces and equipment, and clearly mark restricted or proprietary data and present it as an addendum to the non-restricted / non-proprietary information. See Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 3.104.4; 52.215-1(e). In the absence of such identification, James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAVAH) will assume to have unlimited rights to all technical data in the information paper. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS EXISTS AT THIS TIME.
