- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT notice for information to be used for preliminary planning. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this synopsis. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND A CONTRACT WILL NOT BE AWARDED FROM THIS NOTICE. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking to identify qualified 8(a) firms who are capable and knowledgeable of executing similar work as described in the attached Draft Performance Work Statements for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Humphreys Engineer Center. It is estimated that a solicitation for Armed Security Guard services will be issued in July 2012. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this sources sought announcement or any follow up information requests. This announcement is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government. The purpose of this sources sought is to gain knowledge of interest and capabilities of qualified 8(a) firms who wish to compete and perform work as described in the attached Draft Performance Work Statements. Sources Sought responses from other than qualified 8(a) firms will not be reviewed. The Government must ensure there is adequate competition among the potential pool of responsive contractors. The attached Draft Performance Work Statements provide details on the type of work and potential deliverables. Duration of the contract would be a base year with four option years and the contract will be awarded as firm-fixed price. Under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) guidelines, the prime contractor must have the capability to perform at least 50% of the contract work with his/her own employees. Prior Government contract work is not required for submitting a response under the sources sought synopsis. All interested parties must respond by providing a 2-3 page capability statement no later than 1:00 pm EDT on 15 May 2012. Electronic responses should be e-mailed to Danielle Grunwald at danielle.j.grunwald@usace.army.mil and Kyle Beagle at kyle.j.beagle@usace.army.mil and include: -Firm's name, address, point of contact, phone number, and e-mail address. -Firm's interest in bidding on the solicitation when it is issued. -Firm's capability to meet the requirements of the contract as stated in the Draft Performance Work Statements. -Offeror's capability to perform a contract of this type (include firm's in-house capability and comparable work performed within the past 5 years)
