- Description
- J&A for Axiam Software The government intends to award a sole source award to Axiam: Product/Service Description This requirement is for the licensing fee for the Smartstack TM software currently installed on Axiam GMS Series 4000 machines. Background The Axiam GMS Series 4000 machines and associated software and hardware enable the user to accurately measure various jet engine rotating components. These measurements are then used to orient the measured components in such a way as to minimize eccentricities and flatness measurements. Poorly stacked rotors will cause excessive vibration, reduce bearing life leading to less engine time on wing. The Axiam systems are available for use three shifts per day. The weapon system supports the B-52, C-135, E-3, F-15, B-1, B-2, and F-16 aircraft. This request is a request for a follow on contract. Axiam, Inc is the original equipment manufacturer for the subject equipment. Axiam has proprietary rights to the software, technology and replacement parts to the GMS Series 4000 hardware as well as at least one patent related to the same equipment. Axiam, Inc is the only known company that has the technical expertise and data to maintain the GMS Series 4000 systems. SUMMARY OF REQUIRED SERVICES The contractor must have unlimited rights to the proprietary Axiam software. The Axiam system as well as the Smartstack TM software is available to the commercial sector only through Axiam, Inc. and is not military unique. The Axiam systems are already installed and in use by the Government.
