Description
SA Map Maintenance Specification for Roads Drawings Drawings Coversheet Schedule of Items Roads Synopsis OLEARY'S COW FOREST HEALTH STEWARDSHIP PROJECT Description of Work - This solicitation and any resultant contract is a stewardship project in accordance with Section 323 of Public Law 108-7 (16 U.S.C. 2104 Note, as revised February 28, 2003 to reflect sec. 323 of J.J. Res. 2 as enrolled), the Consolidated Appropriations Resolution, 2003, amending Public Law 105-277, sec. 347. This is a commercial item acquisition that has been tailored to fit the Government's method of trading goods for services. An estimated 10,691 Tons (1,552 M board feet) of sawtimber is marked or otherwise designated for cutting on 370 acres. There are 3 mandatory and 1 optional stewardship projects. Mandatory Stewardship projects are: biomass thinning and removal on 370 acres, brush cutting on 370 acres, and road maintenance on 5.14 miles. The Optional Stewardship Project is: machine piling on 370 acres. Treatment areas consist of natural stands. Thinning of merchantable trees will be accomplished through cutting of individually designated trees. Reduction of hazardous fuels will be accomplished by thinning of small conifers, brush and small tree cutting, and piling. Project Location - The majority of the project area (1,818 acres) is situated around Gerle Creek Reservoir. The legal locations are: T.13N., R14E., Sections 3-5, 8-15, 17 and 20 ; T14N, R14E, Sections 32-34; Mount Diablo Base and Meridian (MDB&M); All treatment areas are between elevations of approximately 4,800 and 6,300 feet. Work unit boundaries are delineated on the ground with three horizontal Yellow or Orange paint stripes on trees facing into the unit and/or blue flagging. The solicitation is expected to be issued May 03, 2012. Estimated Bid Open Date May 17, 2012 at 2:00 pm Pacific Time.
