- Federal Business Opportunities Information Date: 2012 May 03 SOLICITATION NO. W9128F-12-B-0025 On or about 18 May 2012, this office will issue Invitations for Bid for construction of the Spillway Dike Bank Stabilization, Old Fort Thompson, Big Bend Dam, SD. The solicitation will close on or about 21 June 2012. This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO HISTORICALLY UNDERUTILIZED BUSINESS ZONE or HUBZONE SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION Contractors interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work should contact the Michael J. Trumm., US Army Corps of Engineers, Big Bend Project, Telephone: (605)245-2255 or email at Michael.J.Trumm@usace.army.mil. Contractors are welcome to make a site visit appointment for the times of 12 noon to 2:00 pm Monday thru Thursday, during the advertisement period of the project. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. See 'Obtaining Solicitation Documents' below. _______________________________________________________________________________ Project Description: (Approx. quantities) This project calls for bank stabilization to be implemented at cultural resource site in Buffalo County, SD adjacent to Lake Sharpe. Requirements call for peaked stone revetments. In total, the project will require approximately 20,500 tons of stone, 8,000 cy of fill, geotextile material, and some minor grading. The work shall be located at the Old Fort Thompson Recreation Area and the Spillway Dike area approximately 1.5 miles east of the Big Bend Project Office as indicated on the drawings. The exact location will be shown by the Contracting Officer's Representative. The estimated construction cost of this project is between$750,000 and $1,000,000. _______________________________________________________________________________ The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 150 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety.
