Description
Synopsis J&A FEDBIZ SYNOPSIS The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Contracts Department, Patuxent River, MD in support of NAVAIR 4.4, Propulsion and Power, intends to negotiate a delivery order under Basic Ordering Agreement FA8122-09-G-0001 on a sole source basis with General Electric, 1000 Western Ave, Lynn, MA 01902 for material and parts (369 Kits) to introduce a redesigned bracket that supports the front frame anti-icing duct at the midframe-to-outer duct location on the F404 engine. The redesign will prevent disengagement of the anti-icing duct and subsequent stage 4 HPC bleed air damage. The Government intends to procure under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. General Electric is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and the only contractor with the requisite knowledge and experience of the current F404 engine required for this effort. The estimated period of performance for this acquisition is 12 months. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS; however, responsible interested parties may submit information in which they can identify interest and capability to respond to this requirement. Responses must be received by 5:00 PM Eastern Time on 18 May 2012. The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is: 336412-Aircraft Engine and Engine Parts Manufacturing. The Government reserves the right to process the procurement on a sole source basis based upon the responses received. The Government will not pay for any information received. The point of contact is T. C. Renner Jr., Contract Specialist, via E-mail: thomas.c.renner@navy.mil or by fax at (301) 737-2746.
