- The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Officer 21 (NCO 21) plans to issue a Request for Proposal to obtain a Teleradiology Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) version 2 to be delivered to the VA National Teleradiology Program. VHA National Teleradiology Program (NTP) is VA's in-house Teleradiology service and has been providing 24x7 Teleradiology service to VA facilities for the past several years. NTP is currently supporting over 40 sites across 17 different VISNs and is projected to double our workload over the next 2 years (currently >20,000 cases per month, 1/3 STAT). We staff 4 Reading Centers across the country (Durham, NC; San Bruno, CA; Menlo Park, CA; and Honolulu, HI) with the potential to add 2 additional centers as workload expands. Currently we have ~50 PACS workstations distributed across the 4 Reading Centers. Our central Teleradiology PACS archive (24 TB) is located in the VA Region 1 data center in Sacramento and each Reading Center has a local image cache server on a GB network for LAN level image display performance. Each VA hospital is outfitted with an image/messaging gateway that manages DICOM and HL7 traffic between the local facility and the central archive in Sacramento. NAICS code 334510 applies with a size standard of 500 Employees. This solicitation will be an unrestricted, open-market acquisition. The resulting contract will be a firm-fixed price type of contract is expected to include option years for maintenance/support of the resulting system. The solicitation number for this RFQ is VA261-12-R-0765. The Solicitation will be issued o/a 16 May 2012, with an anticipated offer due date of 30 May 2012. The Offeror is responsible for downloading all documents including amendments at the website listed above, without further notification from the VA Contracting Officer/Contract Specialist.
