Description

THIS IS A TOTAL 100% SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) SET-ASIDE. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Iowa City VA Health Care System intends to issue an Invitation For Bid (IFB) to award a single, firm fixed-price contract to provide all tools, materials, equipment, supplies, supervision and labor necessary for completion of general construction project 636A8-12-002, "Electrical Site Development" at the Iowa City VA Health Care System, Iowa City, Iowa, in accordance with the drawings and specifications. Work includes, but not limited to, structural support for new 1500kW generator in an enclosure, new MCC's in Chiller Plant, new switchgear and switchboard for normal and emergency power, new room to house HVAC. All work shall be done in a professional manner and according to applicable federal, state, and local codes and regulations. Specifications and Drawings for submitting a bid will be available at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All respondents must be registered in the CCR database (http://www.ccr.gov) and complete online Representations and Certifications at (http://orca.bpn.gov), along with Vets 100 at (http://vets.dol.gov/vets100/). Bidders must be registered in VetBiz at (http://www.vetbiz.gov/). Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All parties must obtain amendments to the solicitation through this web site. Hard copies will not be mailed. Interested parties must go to the web site to be entered on the Interested Vendors List and/or to obtain copies of the Interested Vendors List. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to (felecia.beamen2@va.gov). Issue Date is scheduled for May 16, 2012. The Pre-bid meeting/Site-visit will be held May 31, 2012. Bid Opening Date is scheduled for June 15, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. (local time), in Bldg. #21, Room #1B03f at the Iowa City VAMC, Iowa City, IA, but exact date may vary depending on issuance of the solicitation. The applicable NAICS Code is 238210, with the applicable size standard being $14.0 million. Cost range is between $1,000,000.00 and $2,000,000.00.
