Description

Brand Name Justification NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD ON SINGLE SOURCE/BRAND NAME BASIS The Department of Education, Federal Student Aid (the Department), intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(2) to OpenTech Systems, Inc. (OpenTech), 405 State Hwy 121 Bypass, Building C, Suite 130, Lewisville, TX 75067. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) - only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. OpenTech is the sole developer and supplier for Tape/Copy Software and is the only provider of Tape/Copy software maintenance. The Department intends to award a base year and two (1) year options to OpenTech for Tape/Copy software maintenance. This notice of intent is NOT a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for competitive quotes.
