- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106 with Nikon Metrology, Inc. 12589 Grand River Ave, Brighton, MI 48116-8390 for the purchase of microscopes. The required microscopes are to be used with existing Nikon CFI-60 optics. These microscopes are custom made by Nikon Metrology, Inc. with the same size, alignment and mounting features as our existing equipment. No other manufacturer can provide 100% compatibility with the existing equipment. Nikon Metrology, Inc. has no authorized resellers for this custom equipment. Therefore, the only source for the required equipment is Nikon Metrology, Inc. Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 12 weeks after receipt of order. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 333314, and the size standard is 500 total employees. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by June 6, 2012. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
