- On or about 06 June 2012, this office will issue Invitation For Bids for construction of the Tailrace Erosion Protection Gavin's Point Dam, NE & SD. The solicitation will close on or about 10 July 2012. This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. A tentative site visit date will be established and sent out with the advertisement package. Project Description: (Approx. quantities) Work shall include but not be limited to placement of erosion protection on the right and left bank downstream of Gavins Point dam. The basic amount of riprap is approximately 38,900 ton with additional quantities of 6,500 tons for Option 1, 5,200 tons for Option 2, 18,600 tons for Option 3 and 23,400 tons for Option 4. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $2,500,000 and $5,000,000. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety. Bidders (Offerors): Please be advised of on-line registration requirement in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database https://www.bpn.gov/ccr/default.aspx and directed solicitation provisions concerning electronic annual On-line Representations and Certifications (ORCA) at https://orca.bpn.gov. Representations and certifications are required to be updated annually as a minimum to keep information current, accurate and complete. The electronic annual representations and certifications are effective until one year from date of submission or update to ORCA.
