- Description
- Amendment to Solicitation W91ZLK-12-T-0217 Mobile Decontamination Trailer The purpose of this amendment is to provide responses to questions submitted by several interested vendors. Below, each question is followed by the clarification given by the end user of the trailer. Q: Is the intended use as a work shower (daily use) unit, or an incident response (spill or exposure event) unit? A: Incident response (spill or exposure event) Q: Will the trailer be required to be mobile while laden (tanks full), or simply be moved from site to site "dry" and then prepared for operations in a semi-stationary location? A: Mobile while laden (tanks full) Q: What are the shower requirements (number of stalls, fixture requirements, curtains, gender separation, etc.)? A: At least 2 shower stalls with curtains and basic shower fixtures; no gender specific separation necessary Q: What are the requirements of the on-board air conditioning system? A: High efficiency, ceiling mounted A/C unit with lockable thermostat cover Q: Is there a requirement for heating the water in the Aluminum Fresh Water Tank (on-board diesel or LP water heaters)? A: The water from the fresh water tank, at a minimum needs to be able to go through the hot water system, when the sinks and shower are used then that water needs to be able to be heated. Propane, diesel or LP water heaters are all acceptable. Q: Are there requirements for filtration of the fresh water? A: We prefer the filtered discharge system that uses the Micron cartridge filters. This allows the waste to drain into the waste tank and the waste pump sends the waste water through the filtered discharge system. Q: Is the requirement "wire for baseboard heat (to include interior electric baseboard heaters, heat strips line)" stating that pre-wire for future installation of heater units should be completed, or that electric baseboard heaters should be included in the proposal? A: Electric baseboard heaters should be included. Q: What are the associated requirements (referencing the above question)? A: Standard wiring for baseboard heaters and the cold weather package, which adds the actual baseboard heaters. Q: What does the "Cold Weather Package" requirement consist of? A: The cold weather package includes interior electric baseboard heaters and heat strip, which are applied to the fresh waste tanks. The exterior of the tanks are foam insulated. Q: What are the requirements for the following rooms? Any seating, storage/shelving, clothing or material refuse, gender separation, etc.? A: Listed below Equipment Room: Mixing valve On-Demand Propane Heating Filtered Discharge System Chrome Floor Drain Shower Room: At least 2 shower w/ curtains and/or Doors Chrome Floor Drains Waterproof Progress Lighting Dirty Room: Chrome Floor Drain Floor mounted Bench Lockable Vanity with stainless steel sink and Faucet Clothes Hooks Filter System Fluorescent Lighting Safety Glass Mirror Skylight Clean Room: Chrome Floor Drain Wall Lockers Clothes Hooks Fluorescent Lighting Safety Glass Mirror Floor Mounted Bench Skylight Q: No specification for filtration. Does this need to be set up for 2 Stage Asbestos (50/5 microns), 2 Stage Lead/Heavy Mineral Filtration or both? A: No specification for either of those filtration systems, however, the trailer must include, at a minimum, a filtration system that drains the waste/water into a waste tank and then through some sort of filtrations system process. The DECON waste/water will then be disposed of based on state/local guidelines. Q: Is the generator to be mounted on the tongue of the trailer or to be located within the Equipment room? A: The generator needs to be on the tongue of the trailer. Q: What is the total numbers of showers to be included in the shower room? A: 2 total showers.
