- Description
- The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to procure on the basis of sole source to Ball Aerospace Incorporated, 10 Longs Peak Drive, Broomfield, CO 80021, at least four (4) Advanced Prototype Long Range Electro-Optical (EO)/Infrared (IR)/Laser Range Finder (LRF) Sensor Systems (LREOSS). LREOSS is used for the NATO SEASPARROW Missile System (NSSMS) MK 57 on the MK 9 Tracker Illuminator System (TIS) as a replacement to the Low Light Level Television (LLLTV) System. This requirement also includes testing, installation, spares, engineering services and associated Technical Data Package (TDP) for the system. The estimated cost for the four (4) LREOSS ™, spares, engineering services and TDP is approximately $5.5M and is based on an independent Government estimate. The estimated period of performance for this effort is twelve months. On September 23, 2011, the Commander of United States Central Command (CENTCOM) identified LREOSS in a response to the June 2007 Urgent Operational Needs Statement (UONS) signed by the CENTCOM commander. The contract will be awarded pursuant to 10 U.S.C.2304(c)(2) and the Federal Acquisition Regulations Subpart 6.302-2, Unusual and Compelling Urgency. Solicitation number N00024-12-R-5412 will be issued on or about June 8, 2012 and awarded on or about July 7, 2012.
