Description
The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS), Pittsburgh, PA is issuing this Sources Sought notice to determine the availability of Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) that possess the experience and capabilities to provide Demolition Services for project 646-12-112, "Demolition of Building 32 at Highland Drive". This Sources Sought Notice is for market research purposes only. This is NOT a request for proposals. Prospective firms' CCR registration must be current. SDVOSB's must be verified by CVE in VetBiz. The applicable NAICS code is 238910 with a small business size standard of $14 million. This project will include (but is not limited to): Demolition of Building 32 including removal of building foundations and utilities to within five feet out from the outer building walls for piped utilities; and to the main means of disconnect for electric power Investigation of architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and environmental features of site as regards this work Preparation of a Demolition and Disposal (D&D) Plan Filling excavations and subsurface cavities remaining after demolition with suitable structural fill designed for future building bearing Providing final grading to match surrounding contours and to shed surface runoff to paved surfaces and storm drains, topsoil, and seed graded areas Modifying central fire alarm and security systems as necessary to remove Building 32 from current systems; updating fire alarm and security systems documentation and submit record documents The issues of greatest concern are waste management, including both hazardous and non-hazardous waste; alteration of storm water runoff and retention; construction noise; and impact to local air quality from building demolition, heavy equipment exhaust emissions, and vehicles No explosives of any kind may be used. Interested parties are requested to register on the "Interested Vendors List" of this FBO announcement no later than COB on May 29, 2012.
