- Description
- The work consists of furnishing all plant, labor and materials for the construction of 112 Relief Wells to include drilling, installation and testing of relief wells and related equipment, installation of concrete-filled steel pipe guard posts, relief well ditches and collector itches, corrugated metal pipe removal and installation, riprap installation including geotextile filter fabric, establishment of turf, and environmental protection. The contract also includes the enlargement and cleanout of Ditch 1 and specified associated confluences which includes clearing, grubbing, & snagging and disposal of debris therefrom; excavation and disposal of material therefrom; stone protection including furnishing and placing bedding material and riprap; placement of geotextile; the removal and installation of multiple corrugated metal pipes of various size, repair of asphalt and gravel roadways following pipe installation, establishment of turf; and environmental protection. There are (62) sheets in the set of drawings. This project is advertised as an 8(a) Competitive. It has been determined that competition will be limited to 8(a) firms located within the geographical area serviced by the Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Mississippi and Kentucky and other 8(a) construction firms with a bona fide place of business within the geographical competitive area which have the assigned NAICS code (237990). All other 8(a) Business Development Participants are deemed ineligible to submit offers. For the purpose of this procurement to qualify as a small business concern, in addition to being independently owned and operated and not dominate in the field of operation in which it is bidding on Government contracts, the concern must have had average annual sales receipts for the preceding three fiscal years not exceeding $33.5 million. The contract is for Island 8 Relief Wells Construction, Fulton County, KY. The estimated value of work is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Solicitation will issue on/about 18 June 2012 and bid opening date will be on/about 19 July 2012.
