- NASA/GRC has a requirement for an MTS 505.11 SilentFlo Hydraulic Pump. NASA/GRC intends to award this sole source requirement to MTS Systems Corporation under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). This procurement is for an MTS replacement pump on an existing GRC large MTS mechanical test system. The requested pump is an identical plug-n-play replacement item and guarantees compatibility with the current MTS test and control systems. It is required for laboratory compatibility and to maintain the quality and interchangeability of the test results. MTS is the original manufacturer. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Organizations that believe they are capable of providing the described requirement may submit their capabilities and qualifications in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30pm EST on 6/6/2012. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
