- The purpose of this amendment is to extend the capabilities statement due date to 12 PM pacific standard time, Thursday June 14, 2012 and to change the response email to mforbes@usbr.gov. This is a Request for Information (RFI) for project planning purposes only. No formal solicitation for this work exists at this time. The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) is seeking information from industry to be used for the development of specifications and the Statement of Work (SOW) for the repair and replacement of the potable water treatment system at Davis Dam. The Davis Dam water treatment plant is located across the transformer deck on the south end (downstream side). Currently, Davis Dam utilizes a gas chlorination system that is located in a hazardous materials room on top of the transformer deck. The gas chlorine feeds into the water filtration system located on the lower level below the transformer deck. Davis Dam is looking at installing a new water treatment system which should eliminate gas chlorine and intends to stay away from liquid chlorine due to storage issues from the temperature. Roadway to transformer deck: Two lane 12 foot wide lane. Proper security measures will need to be taken for contractor access to Davis Dam facilities. Response to RFI should include: 1.Name, address and contact information of party submitting a response to the RFI. 2.Description of vendor capabilities and commercial terms and conditions. 3.Comments, suggestions, questions related to the fabrication, materials, drawings, and timeline for installation. 4.Expected long term life of system under both manual and automation scenarios if applicable. 5.System performance in Davis environment; i.e., in an average ambient temperature of 110F during the summer months, lows in the 20F in the winter, dry, high winds, etc. 6.Concept of how debris and trash will be removed while from facility. 7.Rough estimates or order-of-magnitude for the fabrication, installation, and annualized long term O&M of a water treatment plant for budgetary purposes only. 8.Rough timeline or order-of-magnitude for installation of water treatment plant. This RFI is issued for information only. Respondents are advised that Reclamation is under no obligation to acknowledge receipt of the information received, or provide feedback to respondents with respect to any information submitted under this RFI. Responses are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. Responses to this RFI are to be submitted no later than 12 pm pacific standard time, Thursday, June 14, 2012. All responses to this RFI shall be submitted to Cris Forbes /LC-10214, Contract Specialist, P. O. Box 61470, Boulder City, NV 89006-1470 or via email address: mforbes@usbr.gov. All questions related to this RFI and requests for drawings shall be submitted in writing to the email addresses above and shall include an email address of the requestor. When it is determined that a formal solicitation will be issued, a pre-solicitation notice will be posted on Federal Business Opportunities web site at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/.
