This is a request for information(RFI) and feedback from industry is for planning purposes only and shall not be considered as an invitation for bid, request for quotation, request for proposal, or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services. Your response to this RFI will be treated as information only. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of contractor submission of responses to this announcement or the Government use of such information. The information or suggestions provided may be used by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in developing and refining its acquisition strategy, draft statement of work, statement of objectives, or performance specifications. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained in their response. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this request for information or otherwise pay for the information submitted in response to this RFI. Rapid adoption to new technologies and devices are becoming the new norm as the USDA keeps up with cutting edge technologies, we seek centralized management and control over these new trends. In this rapidly changing environment, USDA IT must create an environment that is secure, reliable, scalable, and enables users at the intersection of mobility and could services. The USDA ITS is seeking integration services that incorporate Mobility Device Management (MDM), Enterprise App Store, Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and Services that incorporate integration and architecture-all captured into a singular could access point. A detailed description of a potential requirement is attached to this RFI and identified as a DRAFT Statement of Work. The USDA seeks feedback from industry to aid in determining if a requirement developed from this RFI would be viable. We are aware that technologies of today may change tomorrow and are seeking assistance to develop a core requirement that can meet the ever changing needs of the USDA IT environment now and in the future. The USDA is request that responses to the RFI address the following: 1. Please express your company's interest in offering any or potentially offering a response to a request for proposal generated from this RFI. 2. Provide comments or suggestions to the "Draft" requirements document as they relate to commercial practices. This could include technical details and/or services recommended to best fit the USDA potential requirement. 3. Provide a description of a typical pricing structure (NOT PRICING) utilized in a commercial market place for the types of products and services described in the DRAFT Statement of Work. 4. Address the USDA specific questions tailored around this potential requirement and address the Governments questions for a "viable" future. These questions are located at the end of the Draft document. Once industry information is received detailing potential efficiencies and technological capabilities, the USDA may publish a follow-on synopsis requesting further information and industry comments on a refined set of requirements. Interested parties shall respond by 13 Jun 2012, 5 pm MST, with existing or near-term capabilities or products that meet or a subset of the aforementioned attributes located in the Draft Statement of Work. In addition, please provide written comment on the "Draft" statement of work and written response to the USDA specific questions provided as an attachment to this request as well as responses that include information detailing potential tradeoffs or alternative solutions to that which is detailed in the attached statement of work. Detailed responses are encouraged.
