Description

The project requires specialized experience in general contractors familiar with masonry construction and plaza waterproofing in commercial construction. This project involves the removal and re-installation of granite façade base stones on existing buildings. The existing granite veneer panels will require removal, temporary shoring, cutting, re-tooling and re-installation to accommodate flashing removal and replacement. As the proper handling of granite veneer panels is a key component in the completion of the project objectives, bidding contractors should have clearly demonstrated experience with the installation of stone façade panel systems. Likewise, the plaza waterproofing system includes several variable terminations, transitions and unique installation applications. The general project objectives call for hazardous material (asbestos) abatement, the installation of torch-adhered SBS modified bitumen waterproofing membrane, plaza drainage restoration and replacement, as well as the installation of concrete pavers on a pedestal support system. The project will involve combining the several specializations listed above, in well-coordinated, phased construction, covering an area of approximately 50,000 SF.
