- Description
- The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) intends to release a solicitation for Planning for Resilience in East Africa through Policy, Adaptation, Research, and Economic Development (PREPARED). PREPARED is intended to be a five-year activity which will strengthen the resiliency and sustainability of East African economies, trans-boundary freshwater ecosystems, and communities, targeting three key development challenges of East Africa that are likewise high priority areas for the U.S. Government (USG). The first two are biodiversity conservation/natural resource management (NRM) and sustainable access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). The third development challenge is climate change, which is not a sector in and of itself, but rather a set of environmental stressors that impact economic and social development and potentially exacerbate existing problems within the Biodiversity Conservation/NRM and WASH sectors USAID intends to use full and open competition for this procurement and intends to release the solicitation within the next 30 days. Except for the above, no additional information regarding this planned RFP is available at this time. All necessary information will be supplied at the time the RFP is posted at www.fedbizopps.gov. Questions/requests for information will not be responded to until RFP issuance. Interested parties are advised to periodically monitor the above website for updates concerning this procurement. No proposals for funding should be submitted until after the RFP is issued. Prospective Offerors are advised that this procurement is subject to internal USAID approvals and the availability of funds. This pre-solicitation notice in no way obligates USAID to release a solicitation or award a contract. This notice satisfies the synopsis requirement in FAR 5.201.
