- Award plus options value = $685,569 Original Synopsis: Minimum of 14 units,with options for up to 6 additional units, for a maximum of 20, identicalflight-qualified payload instrument packages. These packages must be designed tointerface with the Government-furnished EtherSat bus for the purpose of demonstratingdistributed multipoint space physics measurements hosted by the Ethersat constellation. A provision of 25% spare parts/units (detailed in Delivery section of the draft Statementof Work) is additionally to be provided. One engineering development unit(EDU) (forevaluation purposes) is also to be delivered, near mid-term. The period of performanceis to be less than 7 months total duration, with delivery required in November 2012 tomeet NASAs satellite integration schedule. The provider will also propose to deliver upto 120 hours of technical support. Support to be proposed by contractor may include: NASA training, test support, and operations support after package delivery. NASA's budgetfor this effort is not expected to exceed $500,000. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about March 23, 2012 with an anticipatedoffer due date of on or about April 23, 2012.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
