- Description
- This is the Sample Quad Chart format that needs to be used on the package to be submitted Electric Fires Request for Information Electric Fires is a new conceptual term used by the U.S. Army to identify capabilities that use electromagnetic (EM) energy to destroy, degrade, and deny a threat's capability and protect friendly capabilities. It includes high power microwaves, directed energy, plasma, and kinetic energy weapons. It also includes actions taken to protect friendly equipment, facilities, and personnel and retain friendly use of the electromagnetic spectrum. The Fires Center of Excellence, Ft. Sill is requesting Defense Industry submit a white paper and quad chart for evaluation of technologies with this capability. Based upon the review of the white papers and quad charts, selected Defense Industry will receive invitations to brief their mature capability to the Electric Fires Board of Directors (BoD) at Ft. Sill Oklahoma. These briefings will be conducted over the course of a day and each company will be given a time to brief the BoD. Proprietary technologies and briefings will not be shared; briefings will be done individually with the Government representatives from the Electric Fires BoD. A follow on decision will be made by the BoD as to which technologies will be allowed to demonstrate during the first Annual Electric Fires Day to be conducted at Ft. Sill Oklahoma. The suspense for white paper/quad chart submission will be 1200 CST on 28 September 2012. There will be no exceptions, or extensions granted to this date. The white papers must discuss: the technology's system capability, conceptual use, planned use and cost. Additional equipment and/or stabilization devices or procedures necessary to support achievement of effects must be identified and explained. White papers are limited to 5 pages plus one, one inch margins, Times New Roman 12 font, one quad chart of the technology. No entitlements to payment of direct or indirect cost or charges to the Government will arise as a result of contractor submission of response or the Governments use of such information. Submission will be by email to: darrin.l.carter.civ@mail.mil, for Classified documents please send to darrin.carter@us.army.smil.mil Questions may be submitted by email to POC.
