Description
The purpose of this Sources Sought is to identify sources capable producing the MK 3 MOD 0 Pallet NSN 3990 00 390 0223 and the MK 12 MOD 1 Pallet NSN 3990 00 566 2472. Responding companies should state if they are interested in producing both pallets or are only capable of producing one of them. All contractors interested in this notice must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database. The Technical Data Package (TDP) associated with the MK 3 MOD 0 Pallet is classified as Distribution A - approved for public release; distribution is unlimited. The Pallet, Material Handling, MK 3 MOD 0 is a steel wire weldment consisting of a deck, vertical supports and runners. The deck is composed of steel wire, assembled into a grid pattern of 2 inch squares and welded to the supports. Three formed sheet steel runners run fore and aft beneath the deck, with one runner on each side and one in the center. Nine steel vertical supports are welded to the runners and to the deck. The pallet is capable of transporting loads up to 4,000 pounds. The MK 3 MOD 0 pallet measures 48 inches long by 40 inches wide by 4.75 inches high. The complete pallet is galvanized. The MK 3 MOD 0 Pallet is a general-purpose four-way pallet used to handle unit loads aboard ship and at shore stations. A forklift, pallet truck, or pallet sling is used to transport and stack loads. The government's interest would be about 900 minimum to 2500 maximum of MK3 Mod 0 Pallets each year starting in FY12 with the possibility of four additional years. The TDP associated with the MK 12 MOD 1 Pallet is classified as Distribution A - approved for public release; distribution is unlimited. Nine steel vertical supports are welded to the runners and to the deck. The pallet is capable of transporting loads up to 4,000 pounds. The MK 12 MOD 1 pallet is 45.5 inches wide by 35.0 inches long by 4.75 inches high. The complete pallet is galvanized. The MK 12 MOD 1 Pallet is a general-purpose four-way pallet used to handle unit loads aboard ship and at shore stations. A forklift, pallet truck, or pallet sling is used to transport and stack loads. The government's interest would be about 500 minimum to 1500 maximum MK 12 MOD 1 Pallets for a one time buy only. Interested companies should provide their minimum and maximum production requirements and any production limitations (significant lead times with equipment and/or materials). A respondent to this sources sought is requested to produce a rough order of magnitude price. Interested companies should respond by providing the government the following information: a brief summary of the company's capabilities including a description of the facilities, technical and manufacturing capability, personnel skills and experience, successful past manufacturing experience as it relates to like items and the availability of this capability. A respondent is requested to provide a copy of their quality manual's table of contents and a list of all of the revisions made to the manual. Interested companies should have a majority of the skills and facilities that are required to manufacture this Pallet. If a respondent does not have adequate resources (technical, Manufacturing, personnel, ect.) available, then they must be able to demonstrate their ability to obtain those resources in a timely fashion. If a respondent chooses to utilize the services of sub-tier vendors or subcontractors the responses should clearly state which components or processes are being subcontracted and how the respondent plans on managing those vendors. If a respondent chooses to utilize foreign suppliers the responses should clearly state which component or processes they are planning on subcontracting and the country of origin. This sources sought is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the government. The government does not intend to award a contract solely on the basis of this source sought or otherwise pay for information solicited. Participation in this effort is strictly voluntary. The government will utilize the information provided only to develop the acquisition strategy for future requirements. All submissions are requested to be made electronically and shall be made within 30 calendar days from the date of this publication. All information submitted will be held in a confidential status.
