Description
The United States Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Center, Detachment Norfolk VA, intends to issue a Commercial Request for Proposal (RFP) for Dry-dock and repairs to the CGC AMBERJACK (WPB-87315) and CGC STURGEON (WPB-87336) both 87-Foot Patrol Boats. The NAICS Code is 336611. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Part 15, Contracting by Negotiation for Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-Aside. Request for Proposals (RFP) will be issued on or about June 29, 2012. The acquisition is to perform drydock and repairs to the CGC AMBERJACK and CGC STURGEON. The vessels are geographically restricted to a facility located within an area no greater than 1200 nautical miles one-way and 2400 nautical miles roundtrip from Galveston, TX. The Period of performance for CGC AMBERJACK is one-hundred twenty three (123) calendar days from 29 OCT 2012 through 1 March 2013. August through 12 October 2012. The Period of performance for CGC STURGEON is fifty-eight (58) calendar days from 4 April through 31 May 2013.. All work will be performed at the contractor's facility within the geographical restriction as stated above. The solicitation will be issued electronically via the Federal Business Opportunity web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for the RFP release and all subsequent amendments. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. The scope of the acquisition is for the overhauling, renewing and repairing of various items aboard the CGC AMBERJACK and CGC STURGEON. This work may include, but is not limited to: 1. Preserve Bilge Surfaces 100%, Renew Galley & Mess Deck 6. Dirty Oil Tank, Clean and Inspect 7. Oily Water Tank, Clean, Inspect and Preserve 8. Tanks (MP Fuel Service), Clean and Inspect 9. Tanks (Potable Water), Clean and Inspect 10. Forepeak, Inspect and Preserve 100% 11. Superstructure, Preserve 100% 12. Pilothouse Deck (Aluminum), Inspect, Preserve, and Renew Electrical Matting 13.
