- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award, on a sole source basis, a Purchase Order to the Beckman Coulter, Inc. The purpose of this procurement is to acquire the services of One Year Service Agreement for three HMX Analyser, services provided are technical assistance, phone support through technical call center and in-lab assistance on operational or control recovery problems from their staff of Applications Specialists twenty-four hours, seven days a week. Beckman Coulter provides annual preventative maintenance of three Beckman Coulter HMX analyzers. At 15 locations Beckman Coulter engineers calibrate the HMX analyzer. This ensures that the three instruments are calibrated against each other. Calibration is a procedure references and to apply any necessary correction factors. The engineers perform calibration in the close-vial mode, at ambient room temperature range (16-32C, 60-90F), using S-CAL as an alternative to whole blood. The anticipated award date is Friday, July 6, 2012. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide this requirement are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification, as well as, a capability statement to the contracting office by 12:00 p.m. eastern standard time on Thursday, July 5, 2012. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed actions based on responses to this notice is solely within its discretion. Information will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
