Description
The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) has a requirement to renew existing software LS-DYNA and Underwater Shock Analysis (USA) licenses for one year. LS-DYNA is an explicit finite element program well suited for simulation of highly nonlinear dynamic problems. LS-DYNA has been enhanced to include the Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (ALE) formulation to provide analytical capabilities unique to the naval community. LS-DYNA has also been coupled with Underwater Shock Analysis Code (USA) which allows the fluid-structure coupling by means of Doubly Asymptotic Approximations (DAA). NSWCCD intends to negotiate a non-competitive procurement with Livermore Software Technology Corporation (LSTC) 7374 Las Positas Rd, Livermore, CA 94551-5110. Livermore Software Technology Corporation is the developer and sole proprietor of LS-DYNA and USA. The estimated period of performance is from award date until March 31, 2013. Award of a Firm Fixed Price type contract is anticipated. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes however interested parties may submit a capability statement within fifteen (15) days after date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
