Description
Federal Business Opportunities Information Date: 9 July 2012 SOLICITATION NO.: W912HY-12-B-0016 Class Code: Z2QA NAICS Code: 237990 Subject: OMAHA DISTRICT - Council Bluffs Drainage Structures Set Aside Code: Total Small Business Response Date: 45+ days after posting. Place of Performance: USACE Omaha District, Council Bluffs, IA Levee System Description: On or about 17 July 2012, this office will issue an Invitation for Bid for Drainage Structures in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The solicitation will close on or about 16 August 2012. This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. A site visit date will be stated in the solicitation and will be scheduled for a date not earlier than 19 July 2012. Contractors are strongly recommended to attend the site visit. Contractors will meet at 1:00 pm and will be notified of the exact meeting location no later than 72 hours prior to the site visit. There will be a project site walk-thru at each of the five locations. Any questions that arise during the walk-through may be addressed via email within 24 hours to the contact outlined below. The sign in sheet and all questions from the site visit will be addressed in an amendment to the solicitation. See 'Obtaining Solicitation Documents' below. _______________________________________________________________________ Project Description: (Approx. quantities) The US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking qualified members of the Small Businesses Community to complete the following work: Work includes complete replacement of three riverside drainage structures along Mosquito Creek and one along the Missouri River, as well as repairs to another structure along Mosquito Creek. Contractor will be responsible for transporting and disposing of all debris. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. _______________________________________________________________________ The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 calendars days after notice to proceed and complete the work no later than 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety.
