Description
The following is a notice for the B-1 Sustainment Acquistion Strategy Industry Day: SUBJECT: B-1 Sustainment Acquisition Strategy Industry Day DATE: August 14, 2012 REGISTRATION DEADLINE: August 8, 2012 Registration: David Bourbonnais 1-405-736-3542, david.bourbonnais@tinker.af.mil Matt Gamble 1-405-736-5564, matt.gamble@tinker.af.mil The B-1 System Program Office (SPO) of the US Air Force will be holding an industry day on August 14, 2012 at Tinker AFB. The purpose of this event is to inform the business community the United States Air Force B-1 System Program Office (SPO) Tinker AFB, Oklahoma has a requirement to sustain the B-1 with an effort focusing on a broad spectrum to include, but not limited to, structural repair, electrical, hardware, software, supplies, engineering services, and research and development. Historically, this work has been performed by The Boeing Company, the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). This Industry Day is looking for perspective contractors possessing the necessary B-1 engineering, manufacturing, and software knowledge and expertise to perform and manage multiple B-1 major sub system developments, hardware/software/repair programs and related integration activities without unacceptable delay to program schedules and unnecessary duplication of development costs. This Industry Day is looking for perspective vendors with the B-1 institutional technical knowledge critical for managing and integrating the completion of ongoing programs such as B-1 Full Scale Fatigue Test and Integrated Battle Station development of the B-1 System. The goals of the Industry Day are: (a) to introduce the aerospace community (industry, academia, and Government) to the broad B-1 future requirements; (b) to encourage and promote teaming arrangements among potential vendors having the relevant expertise, facilities, and capabilities for executing research and development responsive to the B-1 SPOs program goals. The Industry Day will include overview presentations and an opportunity to interact and present capabilities and concepts to government personnel in sidebar sessions. If your firm possesses the technical capability, financial, facility, equipment and personnel resources, and relevant experience/past performance to perform the type of work specified above as a prime contractor, please submit a request to attend the Industry Day per the instructions below or submit an "Abstract response" based on the procedures below to David Bourbonnais, david.bourbonnais@tinker.af.mil. "Abstract response" should adhere to the following instructions: 1. All submissions must be made electronically (as described below), and be in either Adobe PDF or Microsoft Word format. 2. Cover Page (1 page) a. Title b. Organization c. Responders technical and administrative points of contact (names, mailing and e-mail addresses, phone and fax numbers) a. Executive summary c. Technical response. Your discussion should address the following: What are your capabilities? Have you provided support to a DOD platform in the past? If you have provided support to a DOD platform, what weapon system was it and what support did you provide? 3. An optional list of citations, including URLs, if available. This is NOT a formal notice of solicitation. Telephone or facsimile inquiries and/or responses will not be accepted. The B-1 SPO appreciates responses from all capable and qualified sources including but not limited to universities, university affiliated research centers, and private or public companies.
