- This synopsis serves to announce the intent of the North Atlantic Regional Contracting Office (NARCO) to issue a solicitation for Senior Optometrists, Senior Opthalmology Technicians and Opthalmology Technicans to support the Warfighter Refractive Eye Surgery Program (WRESP), within the National Capital region to include the following locations: Fort Belvoir Community Hospital FBCH), Ft Belvoir, VA, and Walter Reed National Naval Medical Center (WRNNMC) Bethesda, MD. The contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, materials, transportation and all else necessary to provide this service. The period of performance will be 01 October 2012 - 30 September 2013, plus four one-year options for a total performance period not to exceed 60 months. The Performance Work Statement (PWS) will be posted with the Solicitation. The solicitation will be uploaded to fedbizops via https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/ approxiamately 23 July 2012. All offers must be submitted via the Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) Bid Response System (BRS), which allows vendors to submit bids on solicitations posted at the ASFI/FEDBIZOPS. This acquisition is being offered for competition limited to 8(a) Small Disadvantaged Veteran Owned Business (SDVOB) concerns. The SIC code applicable to this acquisition is 8042, and the associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this procurement is 621320 and the small business size is $7 Million. The requirement will be solicited in accordance with FAR 19.8. All interested must download the solicitation from Fedbizops. There will be no paper copies of this solicitation available. All solicitation information may be obtained through the above referenced website. Interested parties should register online and subscribe to receive procurement announcements related to this solicitation. Potential offerors are responsible for monitoring this site for release of the solicitation package. To be eligible for contract award, offerors must be registered in the DoD Central Contractor Registration (CCR). Register via the CCR website at http://www.ccr.gov. Contractors must also submit their representations and certifications at the online Representations and Certifications Applications (ORCA) website at https://orca.bpn.gov. Note: The synopsis response date of 24 August 2012 is longer than 2 weeks in order to keep the synopsis from archiving. A solicitation will be posted with an opening and closing date.
