- Due to the exclusive availability only to this vendor, this is a Notice of Intent to Issue a Sole Source order to Haag-Streit USA. The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) in support of U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR) Intends to issue a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order for a digital slit lamp work station that contains a digital slit lamp, a digital camera, digital photo editing software, and a photo archiving system and database that will be modified in order for the use of the slit lamp with animals. USAMRAA intends to award this contract on a sole source basis with Haag-Streit USA in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, 10 U.S.C.2304(C)(1). This announcement constitutes the only notice. A written solicitation will not be issued. Interested persons may identify their interest by submitting a capability statement, proposal or quotation. This Special Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, the Government will consider all quotes received by the closing date specified in this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government. If no written responses are received at least fifteen (15) days after the publication of this notice, the purchase will be awarded without further remark.
