Notice Type: Special Notice VA243-12-I-1889 Synopsis: Unless another legitimate source or sources is found, VA NY/NJ Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN3) intends to negotiate a sole source procurement for a VISN-WIDE FSS/GSA SCHEDULE BPA for BCMA Mobile Carts, COWs, and Tablets with HOWARD INDUSTRIES, INC. d/b/a HOWARD MEDICAL as the only vendor capable of providing this Integrated system of products compatible with the currently installed system. Summary of the requirement: VISN 3 is seeking to replace all Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA) Carts and Computer on Wheels (COWs). There will be an additional purchase of tablet computers that will assist in the BCMA and medication consent process. All devices will allow VISN 3 to continue the BCMA program and add new technology for consent. This will also provide an opportunity to standardize the brand of medication carts, COWs, and tablets deployed throughout the VISN. Please.See attached document "VISN3 BCMA CARTS - SPECS" for detailed specifications and background information We intend to conduct this procurement in accordance with FAR 8.405-6 Limited Source Justification Approval and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements. This is notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation documents are available for this requirement. If a Contractor, other than HOWARD INDUSTRIES, INC. d/b/a HOWARD MEDICAL believes they can meet the requirements of this proposed solicitation, supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements Interested parties may submit a capability statement and pricing information for the requirement within 7 Calendar days of the publication of this notice, to be considered by the Government. Again, please keep in mind that your response should show clear and convincing evidence that your company can meet the requirements.. ALL responses shall be submitted (by e-mail only) directly to the contracting officer, Christopher Ward at Christopher.Ward@va.gov. All Responses must be received no later than COB July 26, 2012 NO TELEPHONE REQUEST WILL BE ACCEPTED. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a separate competitive procurement. Disclaimer: This notice does not obligate the Government to award a contract or otherwise pay for the information provided in response. No reimbursement for any costs associated with providing capability statements will be provided by the Government. The Government reserves the right to use information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate.
