Description
THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Reproductive Health contemplates award of a Firm Fixed Price Sole Source Purchase Order to The Academic Pediatric Association, (McLean, VA) Performance shall be at the Contractor's facility. The Period of Performance shall be for 12 months after award. The North American Industrial Classification Standards (NAICS) Code is 611430 and Standard Business Size of 7M The sole source award will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(i) only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. The objective of this procurement is to acquire training courses designed to train independent young investigator initiated public health research in a variety of areas related to racial and ethnic disparities in reproductive, perinatal, and childhood health and promote health equity and well-being. Young investigators are defined as those who are within five years from completion of all training. No other vendors searched possess the proprietary brand name integrity of The Academic Pediatric Association as a premier professional membership organization serving 2,000 child health professionals who identify themselves as academic generalists. They host leadership and continuing education conferences and also accredit professional fellowship programs for general academic pediatrics. The organization serves 37 special interest groups that provide a forum for interested members to collaborate and facilitate communication in general pediatrics and is recognized for its Young Investigators Program. CDC is not requesting competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the services required are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer no later than 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, by July 30, 2012. Determination not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Respondents will assume all financial costs for preparing a response to this notice. The U.S. Government assumes no financial obligation for the preparation and distribution of prepared responses.
