- Description
- CLIN 0001 has an additional requirement to paint the trailers to match the specifications in the Paint Specifications attachment. An additional attachment has also been added to show a series of pictures of a completed trailer. The attached Q&A answers are amended below as of 17 Jul 2012 / 1500 hrs: Q18) The pictures show a small angle bulk head at the head of the grating pads. Is this needed? A18) Yes, per the attached photos. Q12) Please confirm the trailer must be shipped with two tires mounted to the 8-lug wheel hub plus two spare tires mounted on wheels shipped loose with each trailer. A12) The wheel/tire assemblies do not need to be mounted on the trailer. It is permissible to ship the four (4) tires mounted on wheels loose with each trailer. The attached Q&A answers are amended below as of 18 July 2012 / 1000 hrs: Q&A 4) The Government is changing the max load requirement for the axel and tires from 8,000 pounds to 7,000 pounds in order to eliminate the need to use a non-standard rated axel. The following is a new question: Q21) In the latest pictures of the trailers (stacked on the flatbed), those trailers have what appear to be a welded steel channel or tube on the sides for tie down attachment points instead of the D-rings shown on the first set of pictures. Would either type of tie down attachments would be acceptable? A21) Yes, either type of tie-down attachment would be acceptable.
