- THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED I ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN SUBPART 12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. PLEASE SEE SOLICITATION FOR DETAILS. JUSTIFICATION AND APPROVAL FOR OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION (Brand Name Justification) In accordance with FAR 11.105 (a) (3), the following brand name justification is hereby provided for public dissemination. UNICOR, Federal Prison Industries has a requirement for connectors CTR0231, CTR0244, CTR0248, CTR0249, CTR0250 and CTR6243 to deliver 45 days or sooner. FAR6.302-1(c) Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirement. This requirement is for specific brand name material to be provided to a commercial customer. UNICOR's customer has gone through their own testing similar to government first article testing on their finished prototype and requires the following manufacturers on raw materials: CTR0244 - C,SD25S,L-COM-P/N,DB25,CONNECTORABLE - Manufacturer L-COM CTR0248 - C,130503-0001,ITT-P/N,CONNECTORABLE - Manufacturer ITT Canon CTR0249 - C,CSUZAA-2M,L-COM-P/N,CONNECTORABLE - Manufacturer L-COM CTR0250 - C,TRD695SCR-BLK-7,L-COM-P/N,CONNECTOR - Manufacturer L-COM CTR0243 - C,CSMUZ9MF-5,L-COM-P/N,DB9,CONNECTOR - Manufacturer L-COM CTR0231 - C,SN-402-A-AN/PRC-154 - Manufacturer Supply Net These brand name specifications are essential to the Government's requirements and acquiring items manufactured by any other source would result in rejection from the Government's commercial customer.
