- Sole Source Justification Notice of intent to award sole source procurement under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (FAR 13) and Other Than Full and Open Competition (FAR 6.302-1): This notice is for information only; a solicitation will not be issued. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334515, Instrument Manufacturing and Measuring and Testing and Electrical Signals with a size standard of 500 employees. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, the Government intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Cascade Microtech, Inc. 9100 SW Gemini Drive Beaverton, OR 97008. The Government believes Cascade Microtech, Inc. is the only source that will satisfy the agency requirements. The Government is contracting for Three DC vacuum base, left hand probe positioners, three DC vacuum base, right hand probe positioners, six DCP dual triax adapter (kelvin) probe mounts which must be compatible with aforesaid probe positioners, and six DC single line coax probes of 0.5 micron radius. A Sole Source Justification is attached to this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any firm that believes that it can provide the requirement above may give written notification to the Contracting Office. All inquiries and concerns must be addressed in writing to AFRL/RIKO, ATTN: Bryant Soule, 26 Electronic Pkwy Rome, NY 13441 or sent by email to Bryant.Soule@rl.af.mil. Responses to this notice must be submitted by the date/time listed on the notice. Interested sources may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements. Responses received will be evaluated; however a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government anticipates an award date on or before 31 July 2012. Response to this synopsis is not required.
