- Description
- This contract has been awarded as an IDIQ (base year period and one option year period) for the following flood fight supplies: typical sandbags and large sandbags shipped on pallets and in shipping containers as well as polyethylene sheeting shipped on pallets. Short descriptions of the supplies are listed below; however, complete specifications for each supply were listed in the solicitation. The typical sandbags shall be constructed from coated polypropylene fabric, be the nominal dimensions of 26 inches long by 14 inches wide, a minimum denier of 1,000 and be of 10 10 woven pattern, white in color, contain ultraviolet resistance to retain 70% strength after 200 hours of exposure to accelerated weathering testing, and packed 500 per bundle for those shipped in shipping containers and 1,000 per bundle for those shipped on pallets. The large sandbags shall be constructed from coated polypropylene fabric, be the nominal dimension of 36 inches wide, by 36 inches deep, by 48 tall, a minimum denier of 1,600, a minimum of 11x11 woven pattern, have a safety factor of 5:1, suitable for the containment of sand or similar material, white in color, contain ultraviolet resistance to retain 70% strength after 200 hours of exposure to accelerated weathering testing, and packed 25 per bundle for those shipped in shipping containers and for those shipped on pallets. Shipping Containers: A shipping container is a six sided, wooden box, built to industry standards, that is used for the storage and transportation of materiel. Shipping containers have the nominal dimensions of 4 ft. in length, 4 ft. in width, and 4 ft. in height or 8 ft. in length, 4 ft. in width, and 4 ft. in height. Pallets: The bundles shall be triple shrink-wrapped and secured to the pallet according to manufacturer recommended industry standards, allowing for safe transportation, including vertical stacking. Pallets shall be capable of multiple handling. The polyethylene sheeting shall meet the requirements of the ASTM D 4397 specification, be the nominal dimensions of 20 ft. in width and 100 ft. in length, 6 mils in thickness, black in color, shipped in one roll per box, and shipped 25 boxes of polyethylene per pallet. The solicitation was an invitation for bid and was issued as 100% Small Business Set-Aside.
