Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 8), James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, Tampa, FL is currently seeking any firms that can provide the following items or equal: TRANSMOTION 15 (TM15) Chair. This chair is designed to safely transfer and position individuals for reliable swallow study outcomes in the radiographic setting. Primary feature of the chair is the push-button technology to raise or lower the chair from stretch to upright position vs. utilization of hydraulic pump action to accomplish this. Other features that are essential include motorized patient positioning for back, leg and height reducing patient transfer process by 50 percent to help reduce patient fall and staff injury risk. With the TM15 chair, the patient is transferred only twice for a procedure (e.g., bed to stretcher/chair and back to bed after procedure). There is a Quick change battery housing allowing one battery to always hold full charge. Side rails are cushioned for ease of patient egress, and seating cushions provide maximum comfort with Memory Foam. The chair is equipped with a 13" x 25" radiolucent back section with self-storing push bar that swings away for unobstructed view of the patient for proper positioning during X-Rays, C-Arm and Fluoroscopy procedures. Its use extends beyond swallow studies: it can be used in radiology for chest X-rays, mammography (for patients unable to stand), and stereotactic breast biopsy procedures, expanding functionality on the ward. The chair has a 350 lb. patient weight capacity, and a 90' rotating seat feature permitting both lateral and anterior-posterior imaging, eliminating need for staff to physically lift/pull/push the patient into desired position. A brake and steer caster system allows for easy mobility and an auto-extending foot rest improves patient comfort in all positions. The swallow study chair must be equipped with a quick-release back section for emergency CPR application. The chair must be able to accommodate a telescoping IV rod and oxygen tank holder. Accessories to include O2 tank holder, IV pole, and belts for head, torso, leg, back and extensions. No installation will be required. The applicable NAICS for this item is 339113. Interested firms shall include a brief capability statement to meet the requirement, complete contact information (company name, POC, email, phone), size status (large business, small business, SDVOSB, VOSB, Hub Zone 8(a), Woman Owned Small Business, etc), and GSA/FSS schedules if applicable. All responses to this sources sought notice shall be submitted to the following email address: william.hilliard@va.gov. The closing time/date for responses is 1000 AM, 26 Jul 2012. This sources sought notice is for market research purposes only. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION AND DOES NOT OBLIGATE THE GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A SOLICITATION. The Government will not pay for any information submitted under this notice.
