- Description
- 1. It is the intent of Military Sealift Command Ship Support Unit San Diego to make sole source procurement to Dahl-Beck Electric Company (OEM) to overhaul No. 1 Forward Bow Thruster DC Drive Motor, including materials and labor to accomplish the work identified in the Statement of Work. The company has proprietary rights to replacement parts and technical services being procured. This requirement is being issued as other than full and open competition in accordance with 10 USC 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Anticipated performance period is 8 August through 9 October 2012. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by responding to this notice or submitting proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however, all proposals received on time will be considered. A determination not to compete this proposed contract action based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The estimated issue date of the solicitation is 25 July 2012. 2. This solicitation for commercial item is prepared in accordance with the format prescribed in Subpart 12.6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Solicitation number N40443-12-T-0228 applies and incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-58, 18 May 2012. The requirement is issued on unrestricted basis. NAICS 423610 applies with small business size standard of 100 employees. The government intends to make an award on or about 30 July 2012. 3. Electronic posting of the solicitation may be viewed at the Contracts Section of the MSC Website (1102 page). Instructions for downloading solicitation from MSC website: go to http://www.msc.navy.mil/. Click on Contracts (upper right hand corner of screen), Click on Active Request for proposals, click on MSC Office Location, click on MSC Pacific San Diego, click Search. Look for Solicitation Number, click on RFQ/RFP Number and follow downloading instruction for the solicitation. Work Item/Statement of Work is incorporated in the solicitation located at the MSC website. 4.
