Description

The Department of Veteran Affairs, Acquisition Service- Frederick (AS-F), 8490 Progress Drive, Suite 100, Frederick, Maryland 21701 intends to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) to provide all supplies and equipment, labor, and management and supervision resources to install two new Fike Intelligent Graphic Annunciator Panels, replace existing abort switch with a Fike Countdown Timer with Abort Switch and install Fike Precise Vision Event Management and Graphics System on a new 19" touch screen LCD w/built-in computer and e-mail capability. The anticipated period of performance for installation of the new system upgrades is 90 calendar days after award. Additionally, the contractor is to provide comprehensive preventative maintenance and warranty services of the Fike clean agent suppression system (existing system including the new system upgrades) in conformance with the latest published edition of the manufacturer's specifications and applicable NFPA codes (Specifically NFPA 72 and 2001). The anticipated period of performance for system maintenance services is 52 weeks from date of award unless otherwise directed by the Contracting Officer (CO). There are four 12-month options following the base year period of performance. Exercise of the option years depends on the needs of the Government and availability of funds. The prospective offeror must provide verification as being certified by the manufacturer, Fike Corporation. The Brand Name Justification document as required by FAR 6.302-1(c) "Application for brand name descriptions" is hereby attached to this Presolicitation Notice. This acquisition is a 100% Total Small Business Set-Aside. NAICS: 561621, Size Standard is $12.5 million. The solicitation and specifications will be issued and made available on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website: http://www.fedbizopps.gov on or about August 3, 2012, with proposals due on or about August 15, 2012. These dates are subject to change. All amendments to the solicitation will be likewise posted on FedBizOpps. A solicitation mailing list will not be compiled and amendments will not be sent out in paper copy. All contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) to be eligible for award of a contract. Faxed offers and amendments will not be accepted.
