Description

The goal of this acquisition is to provide National Park Service (NPS) unit: Lassen Volcano National Park, (LAVO) with point of sale (POS) units for processing, documenting, and reporting sales transactions; with a NPS configured commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) back-office database that allows for POS shift balancing, preparation of remittance reports for deposit; user role access control, product item, and serialized inventory management; and production of management reports for all functions and data in the system. It is also a goal of this acquisition to provide the services of installation, warranty, training and support of the POS units and database. This acquisition must be compliant with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards (requirements for consumer data protection in credit card processing); requirements of OMB Circular A-123 ("Management's Responsibility for Internal Control"), and Federal Information Systems Management Act (FISMA) IT security requirements. The purchase of new equipment and software will give the park the capability to efficiently collect and account for fee revenue; collect and process cash, check, and credit card transactions; sell and track the usage of serialized accountable property such as passes and permits; process credit card transactions through the US Treasury contract for credit card merchant services processing; and provide reports of financial and fee collection data to analyze and report fee collection activities.
