- Description
- The Forest Service contemplates issuing a solicitation AG-0109-S-12-0010for the Steele Wheels Precommercial Thinning project. The purpose and intent of this contract is to secure services for 453 acres of precommercial thinning and 23 canopy gaps of 1/10th acre each in conifer reproduction, approximately 20 to 52 years old. Most of the trees within a designated gap area will be cut down while some may be girdled and left standing to reduce the amount of slash on the ground. The canopy gap locations will be marked by the Government. The Contractor must furnish all labor, equipment, housing, subsistence, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals except those items listed as Government-furnished property.
