- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY and a SOLICITATION IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. This notice is for information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or an obligation on the part of the Government. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for proposals. Submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary. The government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred associated to this request for capability information. USDA, ARS, NADC is seeking a contractor to provide sequenome genotyping for approximately 10,000 DNA samples at approximately 100 markers, with approximately 440 markers used on various subsets. The Crop Genome Informatics Lab is unable to dry samples for shipment; genotyping must occur in the lab's proximity or drying must be conducted on-site to facilitate shipment to the vendor's location. The lab address is: USDA-ARS-CICGRU, 1012 Crop Genome Informatics Lab, Iowa State University, Ames, IA 50011. Interested parties outside of Ames, IA must state how work will be performed (mobile setup, on-site drying, etc.) while maintaining sample integrity. This sources sought request is being used as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in and the resources to provide the product(s) required. The result of this market research will contribute to determining whether there are adequate sources available from which to receive competitive proposals for this set aside. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code to be assigned to this procurement is 541380. Submission Instructions: Interested Businesses, with SAM records, who consider themselves qualified to provide the listed services are invited to submit a response to this Sources Sought Notice by 11:00 AM (Central Time) August 17, 2012. If your organization has the appropriate qualifications and capacity to provide these services, please provide a complete and current record of your Single Award Management (SAM) listing including DUNS number, Organization name, address, contact name, email address, Web site address, telephone number, type of organization, small business type (if any), etc. Potential sources only submit the minimum information necessary and no more than ten (10) pages. The SAM record does not count toward the 10 page maximum.
