- Description
- The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) has a requirement for performing repairs to an abutment of an existing fish barrier used to protect native fish, and excavation of alluvium. The barrier is located 22 miles Southeast of Camp Verde, Arizona in a remote wilderness location which requires a 1.5 mile hike to the destination. There are no roads that access the site. The existing fish barrier consists of three reinforced concrete dam like structure in which the Eastern most structure will be repaired along the East abutment. The repair will consist of reinforced colored concrete, shaped/formed, sculpted, and finished to resemble other natural boulders in the immediate area. The alluvial excavation will consist of removal of sand, gravel, cobbles, and boulders. The principal components of work to be performed include the following: 1.Diverting stream flow around work area. 2.Dewatering of structural foundation. 3.Drilling and grouting anchor bars. 4.Concrete forming for approximately 4-5 yd3 of concrete. 5.Sculpting, dyeing and finishing concrete to give the appearance of a natural boulder. 6.Excavation of approximately 18 yd3 of alluvium to increase flow in side channel of stream. This solicitation is 100% set aside for Small Business. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code assigned to this project is 237990 Other Heavy & Civil Engineering Construction with a corresponding small business size standard of $33.5M. This requirement will be solicited and awarded using the methods outlined in FAR Part 13 - Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The resulting contract will be a firm fixed price construction type. The estimated period of performance is anticipated to begin October 1, 2012 with an anticipated completion date of November 12, 2012. The magnitude of this construction project is estimated to be between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. The anticipated period of performance is 42 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. The solicitation and any amendments to the solicitation will be available only through Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) (www.fedbizopps.gov) website. The extent of the work will be described in the solicitation when it is posted on or about August 29, 2012. Offers will be due on or about September 10, 2012. All dates in this announcement are estimated and are subject to change. No other information will be available before the solicitation is posted. All interested parties are responsible for checking the FBO website to ensure that they have the most current information. Offerors are required to have a current registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be elgible for contract award. Offerors may register in SAM at http://www.sam.gov. SAM is a new system combining federal procurement systems into one new system. This consolidation is being done in phases. The first phase of SAM includes the functionality from the following systems: Central Contractor Registration (CCR), Federal Agency Registration (Fedreg), Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) and Excluded Parties List System (EPLS).
