Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, intends to use a small business set-aside for this procurement. Therefore only bids from businesses classified as small businesses in the appropriate NAICS Code will be considered. This requirement is for one (1) CNC Spindle Lathe meeting the following requirements. All bids must meet the minimum requirements to be considered responsive. The machine will need to have a minimum swing of 16 inches and a minimum distance between centers of 30 inches and not to exceed 40 inches. Capabilities to make or modify intricate brackets, trays or parts. 1.DRO (digital read out) in X and Z axis required 2.CNC (Computer Numerical Control) required (Precision positioning) 3.Advanced features in CNC mode to support complex turning operations required Power and rigidity to support the machining of exotic materials such as titanium and tool grade steels 1.Hardened ways with wear-resistant coating required 2.Power draw bar to rapidly and safely secure tooling required 3.Spindle speed range of 150 rpm or less to 2000 rpm or more All items are to be priced Open Market or GSA only, no other methods will be accepted. Bidders who respond to this notice shall supply, as part of their quote/bid, the following: Quote, payment terms, delivery schedule (ARO), D&B#, CCR Status (www.bpn.gov), ORCA status (https://orca.bpn.gov/), and shall not be listed on the Suspended or Debarred Listing (EPLS) at time of award (www.epls.gov). The standard commercial warranty shall apply, as well as the specified support plans. These items will be acquired utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. This acquisition will occur via a Firm Fixed-Price contract. There will be no written solicitation issued as a result of this notice. DFAR 252.232-7003 (Electronic Submission of Payment Requests and Receiving Reports) is applicable to this purchase. This synopsis closes on 22 August 2012. Award anticipated on or before 30 September 2012. All items shall be priced FOB-Destination, Dahlgren, VA.
